Events to Watch

Here are a few things that I will be watching for this week. I won't write it for everyday, but I do start every morning with American Morning on CNN. (They should pay me for an ad that good)

Monday, August 14
NBA Hardwood Classics- 6:30PM NBAtv
USA vs. Cuba
Any time you get a chance to watch the original Dream Team, take it. If you are a fan of basketball or not, watch this game, see why basketball is such a great sport. Please watch this game.

Monday Night Football- 7 PM ESPN
Raiders at Vikings
Coverage starts at 7pm. Normally I would never, ever promote the watching of preseason football, but it will be interesting to see what ESPN's coverage will look like.

WEEDS- 10PM Showtime
Excellent show on Showtime. Season 2 Premiere.

Tuesday, August 15
Under-21 International Football- 3PM FSC
England vs. Moldova
I know, it doesn't look like the most interesting game in the world, but it will allow a good look at Cup bust Walcott. It's also fun to take a look at the future of football.

Mets at Phillies-7pm SNY
Pedro's pitching, and he's 15 k's away from 3,000. He probably won't get it here, but it is worth a watch anyways.

Wednesday, August 16
International Friendly Football- 3PM FSC
England vs. Greece
First game of the Steve McClaren era, also the first game without Becks. Definitely worth a watch. Congrats to England captain John Terry.

Thursday, August 17
NFL Preseason- 8PM NFL Network (NBC-TV Local)
Chiefs at Giants
Eli and co. get game number 2 of the preseason.

Friday, August 18
Yankees at Red Sox- 1PM ESPN
Yankees at Red Sox- 8PM WWOR
You know what this is about, they play 5 times from Friday to Monday. That is a gauntlet of baseball.

Saturday, August 19
World Basketball Championships-1AM ESPN2
USA vs. Puerto Rico
It starts at 1am, so this is assuming I am awake and home. But if those two things are happening I would love to tune into this game. Last time these teams met up, USA got lit up by Carlos Arroyo.

English Premier League- 10AM-4PM FSC
Newcastle at Wigan
Bolton at Tottenham
Reading at Middlesborough
Opening day of English football. I am way too excited for this.

MLS- 7:30 PM FSC
Columbus at New York
First MLS game for Bruce Arena as Red Bull coach. Should be interesting. I'm making a more concerted effort towards MLS. I feel its snobbish of me to look away from our own domestic league.

Sunday, August 20
EPL-11AM FSC
Manchester City at Chelsea
Oh yeahh, Stamford Bridge opener. This is when it counts, all that time and money...please don't fail.

Yankees at Red Sox- 8PM ESPN
Self-explanatory.
